Yes, AI-powered robots might be able to replace many jobs, totally or partially.
This "new reality" will highlight the importance of understanding what it means to be human.
Are we defined entirely by what we DO? Some cultures (Anglo-Saxon) disseminate this notion... As a Dutch critic once remarked: "Americans are not human beings, they are human doings!"
Humans are not only rational; they are also emotional, ethical and physical.
Human existence should not be restricted to what we can DO from a rational point of view.
There is also what we believe in. There are values, beauty, aesthetics and ethics. There is politics.
There are also sensory pleasures and emotions: eating, drinking, listening to music, appreciating poetry and literature, imagining and day-dreaming.
There is love and sharing, hatred and disgust.
People whose lives have been entirely defined by their rationality and by what they DO will need to learn to LIVE beyond that. They will need to stop living like robots and start living like humans.
